Bopah and Thy
Bopah was 15-years-old and Thy as 16, when they were trafficked into Thailand. Bopah was put to work in a brothel and Thy was sent off to a go-go bar where they were both forced to service men daily.
When rescued and brought to Transitions Global, the girls were scared and felt utterly alone in the world. Neither thought their futures held any promise and they both had forgotten how to dream. But through time, love and therapy, they began to believe in both themselves and the possibility of better lives. One night, as we sat around talking, we discovered the girls speak fluent Thai. In Cambodia, Thai translators can make up to three times the average salary. A plan was born. The girls both attend Thai language school where they are learning to read and write Thai, and both have jobs waiting for them when they graduate. Their story is truly one of redemption.
